Bounce house or combo: which one fits your party

Most of our bounce houses cost $215 and most of our combos cost $325. The $110 between them buys a slide and a longer footprint, and for 18 of the 29 combos it opens a second choice at booking: dry, or wet.

Every price below is a list price for a standard rental of up to 6 hours. Setup and takedown are included, and the delivery fee comes on top, based on the miles to your event location.

What each one is

Our bounce house range holds 21 units from $199 to $300, and 14 of them are $215. Sixteen of the 21 are 15 ft by 15 ft of vinyl. The All Sports Bouncer at $199 is a fair example: a 15 by 15 bouncing section that its page says can fit up to 8 kids, with basketball, soccer, football and baseball worked into the design.

Our combo range holds 29 units from $250 to $375, and 22 of them are $325. A combo adds a slide to the jumping section. The Caustic Drop Combo page lists what is inside one: a large jumping section, a basketball hoop, a climbing wall and then a ride down the slide.

What the price gap buys

  • Bounce houses: $199 to $300, most at $215.
  • Dry combos: $250 to $375, most at $325.
  • Wet Splash combos: from $369.

The ranges overlap at the bottom. The cheapest combo, the Dream Castle Combo at $250, is $35 more than a typical bounce house and costs less than two of our bounce houses, the Halloween Bounce House at $275 and Jack The Bouncer at $300. Its page lists a jumping section, climbing wall, basketball hoop and slide, and says it is great for 6 to 8 kids at a time.

At the top, the Unicorn Combo is $375. What the extra buys there is size: a bounce house, climbing wall and a very fast slide in a unit 33 ft long.

The room each one needs

A bounce house wants a square and a combo wants a longer rectangle. Our bounce houses list a space required of 16 by 16 ft, for the Crystal and Halloween bounce houses, up to 20 by 20, and 13 of the 21 sit at 20 by 20. Of the 28 combos that publish a figure, 20 sit between 18 by 25 and 20 by 30. The width hardly changes. The length grows by 5 to 10 ft.

The big combos need more again. The KidZone Combo w/Slide lists 40 by 30, and the Unicorn Combo lists 41 ft long by 25 wide by 19 high. Three units publish no space figure at all, the Space Bouncer, the Justice League and the Mega Block Combo, so send your measurements before booking any of them.

Our FAQ gives 17 by 22 ft as a general guide for most combo units. The product page figure is specific to the unit, so that is the number to measure against. The space guide covers how to measure the yard.

What a slide changes on the day

Our FAQ publishes rider limits as guidelines. A 15 by 15 bounce house takes 8 children up to age 8 at one time, and a 15 by 18 combo takes 10. For older children the gap narrows: 6 aged 9 to 12 in the bounce house against 6 to 8 on the combo.

The slide itself is a queue, so count the lanes on the unit you like. The Tropical Surf page describes one lane that lets 1 racer down at a time. Jack The Combo, at $365, has a double lane slide.

Dry or wet: most combos come both ways

Eighteen of our 29 combos also appear on our water slide page as a wet version, most of them named Splash. It is the same design booked a different way, and the combo pages say so:

"You can also use this as a wet slide by ordering from the water slide link."

KidZone Party Rentals, Caustic Drop Combo page

For 16 of the 18, the wet version costs $44 more, $325 dry against $369 wet. The Gamer and Mega Block combos start at $339 dry, so theirs are $30 more. Four combo listings carry a Dry Only label, the Jurassic, Mermaid, Shark and Maui, and each of those has a wet listing too, so the label marks the dry booking. The remaining 11 combos have no wet listing, including the Dream Castle Combo, the Unicorn Combo and Jack The Combo.

What the wet version adds, from those pages: a splash pool at the bottom of the slide, and on the Jurassic Splash a misting system to keep the slide wet. The Caustic Drop Splash page describes it as a wet slide for younger participants under the age of 13.

What it asks of you comes from the KidZone Combo w/Pool page: a water hose that reaches the slide and a working power outlet. Our FAQ adds a lawn tip for any water slide. Do not water the lawn for a few days before the party, because water slides use a lot of water and dry grass absorbs it better.

Two more checks before you choose wet. Most dry and wet pairs list the same space required, but six do not, so measure against the listing you actually book. And the weather rule does not change: our FAQ says bouncers cannot be used in winds of 20 mph or more, and cannot be used in the rain.

Which one to book

  • A bounce house when your open ground is closer to a 20 ft square than a 25 ft strip, or when the budget is $215.
  • A dry combo when you have 18 by 25 ft or more and want the slide, or when most guests are 8 and under and room for 10 at a time matters.
  • A wet combo when a hose reaches the spot and the lawn can take the water, for $44 more on most units.
  • Two units when the ages are mixed. Our FAQ asks that smaller children stay out of the unit when older children are jumping, and it offers special discounts off each additional inflatable you rent.

Where the real answer lives

The product page is the authority for the unit you want: its price, its space required and, for a combo, whether a wet listing exists. When you ask for a quote, say whether you want the combo wet or dry, and send the space you have.

Common questions

What is the difference between a bounce house and a combo?

A combo adds a slide to the jumping section. Some, like the Caustic Drop Combo and the Dream Castle Combo, also have a climbing wall and a basketball hoop. Sixteen of our 21 bounce houses are a 15 ft by 15 ft jumping area, and the slide is what a combo adds to that.

How much more does a combo cost than a bounce house?

Our bounce houses run from $199 to $300, and 14 of the 21 are $215. Our dry combos run from $250 to $375, and 22 of the 29 are $325, so the usual gap is $110. The cheapest combo, the Dream Castle Combo at $250, costs less than two of our bounce houses: the Halloween Bounce House at $275 and Jack The Bouncer at $300.

Can a combo be used as a water slide?

Eighteen of our 29 combos also have a wet version on our water slide page, most of them named Splash. For 16 of those, the wet version is $44 more, $325 dry against $369 wet. For the Gamer and Mega Block combos it is $30 more. The other 11 combos have no wet listing.

How much space does a combo need?

Of the 28 combos that publish a space required figure, 20 need between 18 ft by 25 ft and 20 ft by 30 ft. The largest need more: the KidZone Combo w/Slide lists 40 ft by 30 ft, and the Unicorn Combo lists 41 ft long by 25 ft wide. Our bounce houses list 16 ft by 16 ft up to 20 ft by 20 ft.

What do I need for a wet combo?

Our KidZone Combo w/Pool page asks you to provide a water hose that reaches the slide and a working power outlet. Our FAQ asks for a 110V outlet within 100 ft of the setup, and suggests not watering your lawn for a few days before the party, because water slides use a lot of water and dry grass absorbs it better.

How many children can be on a combo at once?

Our FAQ guideline for a 15 ft by 18 ft combo is 10 children up to age 8, 6 to 8 children aged 9 to 12, 4 to 5 teens or 4 adults at one time. For a 15 ft by 15 ft bounce house it is 8, 6, 4 and 4. These are guidelines, and the unit itself carries the specific number allowed at one time.

Every price, size and rule on this page was read from our own product pages and FAQ on September 24, 2026. Our catalog changes, so the individual product page is the current authority for the unit you want.
