What it costs to rent a dance floor
Our 15 x 15 dance floor is $795, and that price covers any rental from one hour to three days. It measures 15.5 ft on each side, needs no outlet, and needs one thing from your site: a hard, flat, level surface.
The planning question with a dance floor is the ground under it. On a patio or a gym floor it goes straight down. On a lawn, it needs a subfloor first.
How much does it cost to rent a dance floor?
- Up to 3 days: $795.
- 4 days: $1,590.
- 5 days: $2,385.
- A week: $3,975.
The price on our Dance Floor 15 x 15 page does not move from the first hour to the third day. A floor in place from Friday to Sunday for a wedding weekend costs the same as one for a three hour party. The fourth day is where it changes: four days is double, $1,590.
Delivery is charged on top, based on the miles to your event location, and setup and takedown are included in the rental price. The deposit is 50% of the order, on a credit card.
How many guests does a 15 x 15 floor suit?
The floor is 15.5 ft by 15.5 ft, about 240 square feet, and the space it requires is the same. We list one dance floor, so the question is whether it fits your party.
The Knot's wedding guide to dance floor size gives a short chart, and one line of it lands on our floor:
"Dance Floor Size for 100 guests: 15x15 feet"
The Knot, wedding dance floor size guide, updated May 19, 2025The same chart pairs 75 guests with 12 x 15 ft and 150 guests with 18 x 18 ft, and the guide passes on a planner's advice to add five to ten percent for a live band. Read against it, our floor suits a party of about 100. For 150 guests, the chart calls for a larger floor than the one we carry.
What surface does a dance floor need?
The product page puts it in capitals: "REQUIRES a hard, flat level surface for installation." A level patio, a gym or a hall floor fits that description. A sloped driveway does not.
For a lawn, the page adds: "Setting up on grass will require a subfloor at an additional charge." The subfloor is listed on the same page as an add-on, without a printed price, so add it to your quote and it is priced with the floor.
Can the dance floor go under a tent?
Yes, and the tent pages plan for it. The 20x20 marquee high peak tent, $395, offers "about 400 square feet of usable area," which its page says is enough for "a dance floor for a small group." The 20x40 marquee, $850, is roughly 800 square feet, enough for "a dance floor with seating."
Set the 240 square foot floor inside and the 20x20 leaves about 160 square feet around it, while the 20x40 leaves about 560 for tables and chairs.
One rule connects the two. Our 20 ft tents go on grass with stakes only, never on asphalt, so a dance floor under one of them is on grass and needs the subfloor. The tent pages also ask you to call 811 at least one week before we stake into the ground, and depending on the delivery schedule, tents for weekend events are set up Wednesday to Friday.
Does a dance floor need power, and can it go indoors?
The floor itself needs no power: the outlet field on its page reads 0. A hall, gym or event room with a hard floor already meets the surface rule, so indoors you pay for the floor and delivery, with no subfloor. Measure the room first; the space required is the floor's own 15.5 ft square.
What does a dance floor add up to?
Three setups, from our published prices and before delivery:
- Indoors on a hard floor: the dance floor, $795.
- Under a 20x20 marquee: $395 plus $795 is $1,190, plus the grass subfloor.
- Under a 20x40 marquee: $850 plus $795 is $1,645, plus the grass subfloor.
Around the floor, our party equipment covers the seating: cocktail tables at $25 with a 36 inch round top that seats up to 4 adults, black skirts at $10, 5 ft round tables at $16.50 and folding chairs at $3.25. Music is booked separately, and DJ services are on our entertainers page. At a park with no outlet for the music, our generator is $250.
We deliver from Westfield across the Indianapolis area. With your quote request, send the date, the surface the floor will sit on, and whether a tent is going over it.
