What changes when you rent an inflatable in October
The unit you rent in October is the one you would rent in June, but the dates, the daylight and the ground under it behave differently. It covers the space and capacity figures we publish, and what a themed unit costs against a standard one.
An inflatable in October is the same product it is in June. What changes is everything around it: Halloween on the calendar, less usable daylight, ground that behaves differently, and guests wearing costumes over coats.
None of that is a reason to avoid a fall booking. It just means a few decisions are different from the ones you would make for a July birthday. Every figure below comes from our own product pages and FAQ.
Start with the size
Our Halloween Bounce House is 13 by 13 feet. That is a common size and fine for a birthday party, but know what it holds before you build an event around it.
Our published rider guideline for a 13x13 bounce house is:
- 6 children up to age 8, at a time.
- 5 children aged 9 to 12.
- 4 teens, or 3 adults.
Our FAQ adds that these numbers are only a guideline, and that the unit itself carries the specific number allowed at one time.
Six at a time is the figure to hold in your head. For a dozen children at a birthday party, that is comfortable. For a church or school event expecting two hundred people, one bounce house still takes six children at a time, so plan other attractions alongside it. A row of games from our carnival games range costs a fraction as much per station: 14 of the 38 games are $65, against $275 for the Halloween Bounce House.
How much space to clear
The Halloween Bounce House product page lists an actual size of 13x13 and Space Required: 16x16. That per-unit figure is the one to measure against, so measure for 16 by 16 before you book.
For scale: the unit covers 169 square feet and the space it needs is 256, about half as much again as the inflatable itself. The area also has to be flat and free of debris, rocks and trees.
October adds one thing to that measurement that summer does not: fallen leaves hide what is on the ground. Rake the footprint and check it is flat and free of debris before we arrive.
What it costs, in context
The Halloween Bounce House is $275 on its product page as of September 2026.
Our FAQ puts the bounce house range at from $199 to $300, with most at $215. So $275 sits toward the upper end of the band rather than in the middle: $76 above the floor and $25 below the ceiling. Weigh that against a standard unit if the theme is not essential to your event.
The rest is the same as any other booking. Our standard rental is up to 6 hours. Delivery is charged separately and is based on the miles to your event location, while setup and takedown are included in the rental price. Deposits are 50% of the total order, are non-refundable, and can be applied to a future event if you need to reschedule.
Themed or standard?
The themed unit is not always the better booking.
Book the themed unit when the photographs matter. A Halloween bouncer does the decorating for you and reads instantly in a picture, which helps an event that will be promoted next year with this year's photos.
Book a standard unit from our bounce house range when the event is a harvest festival, a fall fun day or a church celebration that is deliberately not Halloween themed, or when the budget matters more than the styling. The bottom of the range is $199, and a standard unit does not tie your photographs to one holiday.
Everything else is identical between them: same 6 hour standard, same delivery model, same power requirement, same rules.
Four things to plan for in October
Book the date early
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year. If your event is on or near it, hold the equipment as soon as you have a date, before you have finished deciding the rest of the program.
The light goes early
An evening event in October runs into darkness partway through. That affects which 6 hours you pick more than whether you book at all. Given a choice, a mid-afternoon window gets more use out of the same rental than an evening one.
The ground changes
Wet leaves, soft grass after a fall rain, and an earlier dew are all normal in October and all make the footprint muddier than the same lawn in July. Our units are cleaned and serviced after every rental, so a muddy lawn is not a problem you have to solve for us. Consider it when you choose between the lawn and the driveway; our FAQ confirms we can set up on grass, pavement, or indoors.
Costumes and candy arrive together
Two of our standing rules become much more relevant in October. Children must remove their shoes before entering the unit, which takes noticeably longer over costumes and boots than over sneakers, so allow for it at the entrance. And there is absolutely no gum, food, drinks, candy or silly string in the unit, with a cleaning fee of $25 and up if it happens. At an event where every child is carrying a bag of candy, put one adult at the entrance to enforce that rule.
The weather limits, briefly
These are firm and they are not judgment calls on the day: bouncers cannot be used if there are winds of 20 mph or more, and cannot be used in the rain.
We do not publish a temperature limit; the published limits are wind and rain. Cold affects comfort and turnout rather than whether the unit can operate. Plan the event so it still works if the inflatable cannot be used, with games and concessions carrying part of the day.
A short list before you book
- Measure 16x16 for the Halloween Bounce House, and clear the leaves off the footprint first.
- Check the outlet. The inflatable needs to be within 100 ft of a 110V outlet, we supply the cord, and nothing else should be on that outlet.
- Count your guests against six at a time, and decide whether you need something faster alongside it.
